This publication is a space for writing and reflection on curriculum, teaching and school design.

I write primarily from the perspective of a prep school teacher and senior leader, exploring questions about knowledge, coherence, curriculum construction and the purpose of education more broadly.

Much of educational discussion focuses on immediate practicalities. My interest lies slightly further upstream: in the assumptions, ideas and decisions that shape what schools choose to teach, how they organise learning, and what they hope pupils will become.

Some posts will be theoretical. Others will emerge directly from the realities of school life and leadership. Most will attempt to bridge the gap between the two.
